Fairfax was bred by the famous strawberry breeder George Darrow. It was released in 1933 and was grown for many years. It is one of the parents of many of today’s hybrids. It has been called the strawberry with the best flavor of all time. I am very impressed with the sweet flavor and low acidity. It is a June bearing type that is a moderate producer and produces moderate numbers of runners.
We grow Fairfax in flower boxes on tables for easy access and for ease of rooting the runners. During the summer of 2015 we are rooting runners and plan to introduce them either in the fall of 2015 or the spring of 2016. We have created a waiting list so those who are interested can be notified when plants are available. Signup to be notified. This mailing list will not be used for any purpose other than notification on availability of this variety.

We recently shot this video of the method we use to root strawberry runners. This one focuses on Fairfax.
